When the Youth Set Good Examples

This evening a had the pleasure to listen to a dynamic group of teens pitch a service project that filled me with emotion and pride. The confirmation class attended our vestry (the lay leadership of the church) meeting tonight to pitch their service project and it was just an amazing thing to witness.

The kids are developing an adult education session and an awareness campaign for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The idea came from two of the kids (siblings) whose cousin was diagnosed with the disease at the age of 2 and perished as a result at the age of 19.

The courage and maturity I saw in these kids literally had me welling up with tears. What a beautiful thing to witness and I can't wait to see them carry this out to fruition.
