Football (Not Soccer, Football)

I had been to Gillette Stadium at least half a dozen times in the past but had never seen a football game there. In case you hadn't guessed, it is a football stadium, the home of the New England Patriots. In reference to my title, I was distinguishing the particular sport, American Football because as you know, America is the only place where "football" is not soccer. Also, there is actually a soccer team, the New England Revolution, that also calls Gillette Stadium their home.

last night's football game pitted the New England Patriots against the New York Giants in the final preseason game. Not a lot of familiar faces played and those that did had limited time on the field as NFL teams are at the point where they need to make cuts before the regular season commences.

It was a fun experience and also, good to hang out with a couple of friends, have some dinner, and take in a game. of course, I got stuck sitting next to a guy who smelled like the floor of a bar at closing time and was obnoxiously drunk and just plain obnoxious. I didn't let that spoil things though, in fact, I had some great zingers at his expense.
