At last Saturday's farmer's market, there was a table tasting and discussion of heirloom tomatoes. I approached the table and after seeing all of the varieties, and inspired by Ralph Kramden's "Knight out on a dog like this", I uttered what I thought was a quite clever joke...
"Oh look, an heirloom family" (carefully using the same cadence that we normally use to say family heirloom.
Dude in the had gives me a sneer and says, "Um, no!"
Odd thing is the very first time I ever did stand up comedy at an open-mic, I had food, including tomatoes, thrown at me. What are the tomato gods trying to tell me?
